What’s in those pretty purple bags, you ask? We’ve updated our Book Club in a Bag with new containers, and some fresh titles to go along with them. Thanks to a generous donation, we’ve been doing some work on making this popular resource even better.
If you are not familiar with Book Club in a Bag, let me fill you in. You can borrow a bag for 6 weeks. Each bag has 8 copies of the same book. Our new bags will include an audiobook or large print when available. The bags also contain tips for running a book club, as well as questions to get your discussion started.
Some of our new titles include The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood, Faithful by Alice Hoffman, The Martian by Andy Weir, Do Not Say We Have Nothing by Madeleine Thien, and Nature of the Beast by Louise Penny. Some of these are so new, they aren’t even in the catalogue yet, but will be soon.
To find all our Book Club in A Bag titles, try this link, or search for “Book Club in a Bag Kit” in our catalogue. We’ll be adding more this fall, so if you’ve been thinking about starting that book club, now is the time! Grab a bag, and get ready to discuss. We currently have over 70 kits, so your book club is set for a while.

Something for Teens, too! You can also borrow kits of Young Adult books, called BookTalk Books . While the books are intended for teen readers, adults may find them interesting to discuss as well. Teen readers in Berwick can join the Teen Book Club, and there’s talk of starting one in Bridgetown.
If you love to talk about books, we are here to help!
